The continuing education
certification course. The PADI Advanced Open Water
certification will extend your diving range to 30m (21m for
Junior AOW, divers under 15), teach you underwater
navigation, and allow you to experience three adventure
dives of your choosing.

course can be run on the wreck of the HMAS Swan, HMAS Perth
or on Rottnest island,

The course typically consists
of 2 days, depending on which optional dives you choose :-
- 1 core Deep dive
(between 18 and 30m deep, 21m for Junior AOW divers).
- 1 core Navigation dive
(learn to get back to your starting point!!!).
- 3 Adventure Dives
Choose from:- Wreck Dive, Night Dive, Underwater
Photography, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Underwater
Naturalist, Search & Recovery, Boat Dive, Multilevel
Dive, Drysuit Dive (A$35 extra)
The course includes:-
- PADI Five Star Gold Card
Certification.
- The Adventures in Diving
Manual, yours to keep
- Free boat trip to
Rottnest for deep dive and one other - lunch included!!
- All air fills, gear
rental, and certification costs covered by us - no
hidden extras!!!
- Personal instruction in
small groups, (Max. 6).
- All high quality, fully
serviced MARES dive equipment (with personal diving
computers) replaced each season.
- All transport to and
from the training centre, shop and dive sites provided.

Club membership for the year (usually A$60),
10% off retail purchases during the course.

You will need to
provide or purchase the following:-
- Dive knife (for cutting
line, nets etc on more adventurous dive sites)
- Dive slate for
communicating underwater.
- Film (400 ASA
preferably) if you choose the photography option.
- 4 D-cell batteries and a
Cyalume (10 cm chemical light) if you choose to night
dive.
Availability:-
- Courses run from 08:00 -
18:00 Thursday/Friday or Saturday/Sunday every week.
(Late night Wednesday or Saturday if you want to night
dive)
- Night dives are
sometimes run in conjunction with the club night dives,
on Wednesday evenings, 1800 - 2100.
- Shift workers, and those
with specific work rosters etc. please
contact the store, we can always accommodate your
shift patterns.
- Individual one-on-one
courses are available, please
contact the store for details.
Prerequisites:-
- Be a certified
PADI Open Water diver (or
Junior Open Water), or similar qualification.
- Be 15 years of age (12
for Junior AOW, limited to 21m maximum depth)
- Have a valid Australian
Standard AS4005.1 Diving Medical (contact
the store or click on
Diving Physicians) within the previous 12 months.
- Bring three passport
photos (Contact
the store for details of special photography
service)
- Be ready to have the
time of your life!!!!
